Scientific Conference

This scenario does not reflect the real AAAI conference, but just an imagined and idealized scientific conference where some kind of tasks may be similar to.

* presentation take 20 min, peoples have 10 min to change room if needed.

Goals Types

need to register
do a presentation at a fixed time
present a poster at a fixed time
guard a room during a fixed period (volunteer task)
bring an object from a room to a other room (volunteer task)
socialize with other participants want time permits
take some pictures of some other presentation / poster
take some literature from commercial exposition

Robot features

We assume that these features are implemented correctly. In real robot, each feature above can be implemented by FSM (Final State Machine) that control behaviors modules.

Goto a specific location (room, poster place, ...) :

navigation with a map
follow direction
follow someone

track a line-up, follow last person, when arrived at head then goto desk for register
ask help to register

Track a person with camera
Follow a person with person tracking

Recharge batteries (takes 1h)

Speed : 0.5 m/s
Battery capacity : 500 Wh
Energy consumption :

25 W for basic devices (camera, computer, ...)
40 W to navigate at 0.5 m/s (in addition to first 25W)

Problem #1

Initial State :

Time is 8:15
Robot is in the Hall
Battery is full charged

Goals :

Get registered
Make a technical presentation at 14:30 in room #2
Present a poster at session #1 at place P14

Install the poster at 11:00
To be in the front of the poster between 11:00 and 11:20
Remove the poster before next poster session (<14:00)

Bring coffee and donut to a friend at poster session #1, place P16

Note : the coffee must be hot (immediate preceding action must be "Take Coffee")
